INTERN POSITION WITHIN THE PLANETWORKSHOPS - 2012
The Planetworkshops, Think thank working to promote sustainable development and the elaboration of a more balanced model of socio-economic development, respectful of men and nature, are offering an intern position for 4 to 8 months, starting on next June.
Description of the position :
-the intern will be participating in the organization of the future planetworkshops’ events : the Deserts Workshops, the Global Conference Pacific Round, other roundtables and also the 7th edition of the Planetworkshops’ Global Conference for a Sustainable Development, which will be held on September 2012 in Evian. The Global Conference is an event which gathers every year more than 900 persons and decision-makers to make them think about the solutions need to elaborate a new and more responsible model of development.
In the prospect of these events : participation in the definition of the events programs (definition of the themes of plenary session and other debate sessions) ; identification of international political, civil society, companies and NGOs personalities involved in sustainable development, having developed an expertise or particularly innovating solutions and willing to share them ; invite and convince those personalities to participate in the different events, in accordance with the events’ themes and programs ; finally, participating in the operational organization of the events.
-participating in the follow-up of Planetworkshops’ Partners relations: gathering information on their activities, their news, their markets, their innovations, etc (countries and markets of interests, strategic priorities, developing sectors).
-participating in and helping the team to put in place other Planetworkshops’ Program : Rethink Trophees, E-Durable Program, Sustainable Useful Network, etc.
Skills required :
Good General culture
Proven interest for sustainable development and environmental issues.
English is compulsory and at least a basic knowledge of French is needed (the intern will need to speak at least a few words of French).

On 10 October, Sustainability Day in the Netherlands, Morgen (SENSD Netherlands) handed over their Manifest to ten managers of universities. Speakers at the event included former Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and former chariman of the board of directors of Rabobank Herman Wijffels.
